A new mattress gets delivered to an Aventura tower and the old one, plus the box spring, ends up leaned against a hallway wall because there is nowhere else to put it. A bed frame comes apart easily enough into pieces that fit under an arm, but a queen or king mattress bends around a tight hallway corner instead, and getting either one down to a loading dock without booking the freight elevator first is not something most buildings will let you skip, no matter how urgent it feels.
Florida has no statewide mattress recycling program, unlike a few other states, so most mattresses and box springs end up landfilled no matter who hauls them away. Aventura runs its own trash and bulky collection separate from Miami-Dade County's program, but that collection is not built for a mattress sitting in a hallway or a storage room, and most towers will not let residents leave anything at the curb or the swale in the first place, since there usually is not one to use.

- Do I need to book the freight elevator myself?
- No. Tell us your building name and unit when you send photos, and we schedule the hauler around the freight elevator or loading dock window you reserve with the building. A building that needs more advance notice just means booking a little earlier on your end.
- Will a king mattress fit through my hallway and elevator?
- In almost every case, yes, since a mattress bends and a frame breaks down into pieces. Mention if your hallway turns sharply or the service elevator is small when you send photos, so the crew brings the right approach.
- Can you take just the mattress and leave the frame?
- Yes. Tell us exactly what is going, whether that is only the mattress, the box spring too, or the whole frame, and the price reflects just that. Nothing gets loaded that you did not ask to have removed.
